I would love to know why some of these Underdown's changed their name to Underwood? Would the Devon accent make Underdown sound like Underwood Ron? :cm

I've been fishing in Scotland again and have another surname to my list.

Horseburgh/horsburgh from the St Andrews area.

Whats this with women changing their christian names?? Her first child she was a helen, another child she was a katharine and then all children after that she went back to a helen???

my helen/katharine horseburgh/horsburgh (the first surname when she was born, the second when she registered her kids) is the mother of my isabel walker who married my monro/munro.

Scotland when through a settling of name changing, horseburgh/horsburgh and Monro/munro. makes genealogy fun don't it!
