Valerie Cox nee Buckingham 23 July 1944 Lost in Australia

Post by JALimestone Plains »

This was in the Sydney Morning Herald to day 28 May 2011
SMH Valerie Cox 2.jpg
The last address my mother had was 301 Wororgh Road, Engadine NSW 2033. I cannot find a road by that name, I have also rung Coxs in that area to no avail. The closest I got was Woronora Road. My next task I think is to email the council and ask them if the road has been renamed or if there is one which it could be if that makes sense
I have their arrival date from Nationa Archives.

JA I have tried everything I can but cant find her..There is one other place you can try..On a friday night I think it is radio station 2GB between 11pm and midnight have a trying to find lost friends and lovers..It is not really lovers just called that ,but it is for people who are trying to find family and friends. This is broadcast to ACT. nsw. Vic and QLD so has a wide scope ..worth a try..go into 2gb.com and search Brian Wiltshire who does a show from 9pm to midnight. Worth a try..

Sorry I cant be of more help. :bk

JA, have you tried looking at marriages. She may have divorced
or been widowed and married again. You may need to look for
a different name?

Just a thought.

Also, there is a section in That's Life and Take five where you could
put the details. They may have a wider coverage for women around
that age.

Good Luck

Q good thought about looking for a remarriage. I will google the magazines you mentioned. Thank you.

Good idea LM, I looked at the Council Area and Engadine is in the federal electorate of Hughes so after I have done my oral history stint tomorrow at OPH I will pop into the National Library and look. As British citizens they would have been eligible to vote.

Thank you both :bk
