I have Mitchells in mine too... i have traced them back to Narracorte here in south australia.. before that where they come from i don't know... one of my brick walls.....

Ron- my Mitchells didn't get any further than England and Wales so no connection there I'm afraid - well not immediate family anyhow. :|

Carson's are my BIG brick wall. Sydney William Carson is/was my grandfather. i have virtually no info on him other than i know he died in 1953 in Murryvale. And i have a few Mitchells in the tree, the original is my 4x grandmother, but i seem to have Mitchells marrying in all over the place hehe.

And Ron, my clan seemed to spend a lot of time coming and going from S A, I eventually found my 3x grandmother buried at Naracoorte after a long time and a lot of dead ends. And a couple of her daughters married and died over there. Some of the names i am interested in over that way are Donnell, Maynard, Jones, to name a few.

If anyone needs something checked in S.A ( Births,Deaths & Marriages )i do carry the BDM cd's...and happy to check for anyone, if they fall within these time frames..... :P
South Aus. records on cd. are better value than any other State, because they also ( under normal cicumstances ) give the fathers name of either Bride and Groom.....and occassionally where the wedding/ceremony took place. ( sometimes at parents house ) which also tells you where parents lived. Also shown is whether Bride or Groom was widowed at time of marriage. ( 2nd marriage )

On the Births cd. You not only get the year...but also Day and Month.

On the Death's cd. you sometimes get informant's name. ( Husband/Wife/Parent/Relative )

Lilian Barlow born 1872 Staffs, UK
Came out to SA and took on the Hotel Belaire in the Adelaide Hills..

Dont know if she married after she got here or before she left the UK..

Last found in 1891 census in uk..Newcastle under lyme Staffs.with mother Sarah and brother Ernest Joseph Barlow...who also came to Adelaide in 1915..

I can only search for deaths in S.A up to 1915 on cd......but no Lilian BARLOW death on them.
If she married before she came to Aussie mate, i would need to know her married surname........ to check possible deaths.

You say she ran a pub, "Hotel Belaire" in the Adelaide Hills....So what year did she run the Hotel..

do a search in births for the mothers maiden name... as if she gave birth here it could be sussed out that way; here in the Digger SA Births...... that might prove she was here and the location of the birth could also help too!

There was one Lilian BARLOW who gave birth in 1910.
Cant find her marriage on the S.A index's...soooo Mary, it might be worth checking with your friend to see
if this Lilian married a SCHWARZ in the U.K. I only looked at marriages in Staff....but she may have married anywhere in the U.K ...or Aussie. I will have a look see around Oz....for a Lilian BARLOW to a SCHWARTZ in the mean time.

This was a birth recorded in 1910 for a Una SCHWARZ in Wiliamstown S.A...( with Mother Lilian BARLOW )
