Tom Pitts ( as refered to in painting ) came to Markshall ( in Essex ) from Oxford. He met the Rector of Markshall ( Philip Honeywood )and they became good friends.Tom was his man servant.
Tom Pitts married Mary Sharpe in 1852...They are part of my family tree...Thomas ( Tom PITTS ) died in Earls Colne 1868....and Diana ( his daughter in Photo ) moved to Winnipeg Manitoba B.C ....Part of my Canadian ancestry.
