Ron. Be wary about family myths..My grandmother wrote a history of the family and she said her aunt went to NZ with her niece and family..I spent years searching for her..Only to find when the 1911 census came out that she had married and was then a widow living with her sister in London..she had never been out of the country..it was her nieces mother that went to NZ with her daughter..another story was that my grandmothers grandfather went to war and took his wife with him,,He was wounded and was returned to England where he had his leg amputated and then he died..Have now found that he was in the army but had never been out of England and he was in the Household Cavelry and his horse kicked him and he died of a infected knee..result of the kick..so our ancestors like to colour their history a bit..

Will have a look for you a bit later today as I have to take John to the docs..
JA and Dizzy seem to be doing ok..
JA Where did you find the records you emailed to me..it dosent say where or when they are from..I take it they are electoral rolls..???

Ron Mare got the email which I cc'd to her - I used the Wattler list one for you - my email on that list is the right one. I have sent it again hotmail. If you have another address and want the record then can you send an email with that address to me please. Thanks

LM the record attached to the email I sent to Ron, cc'd to you was the NZ reserve 1917. A Thomas Murray Monro lived at Palmeston North - horse driver.

LM please keep at it with us if you have the time - the more heads the better. All the best for the Dr - pm me when you have time to let me know how things are going.

Ron I went to the National Library and will do a series of posts of what I found. Not sure what hangs together with what yet.
